House of Hugo + Harper is a Sydney based store specialising in unique, luxury handcrafted resortwear designed & created by BeMystique in Dubai.

Founded by Joanna Daros & Lauren Pitura, the duo behind Sydney hair salon Indie Sky + Co, the idea for the brand came about after Joanna returned from a trip to Dubai, with a handmade BeMystique kimono for herself and her business partner Lauren.

The girls fell in love with the gorgeous designs, the unusual fabrics and just how beautiful these pieces were to wear. Every time they wore the kimonos they were inundated with requests from clients, friends, and sometimes complete strangers, eager to know where they could get their own, only to be disappointed when they discovered they were not available in Australia.

And hence, the idea for House of Hugo + Harper was born as Joanna & Lauren set out to bring the unique BeMystique creations to Australia so more people could enjoy these luxurious statement pieces.

The name House of Hugo + Harper was inspired by Joanna & Lauren’s greatest love - their children.

When they started their first business together, a luxury hair salon in the Sydney suburb of Drummoyne, Joanna & Lauren named the business Indie Sky + Co - Indie being Lauren’s firstborn child and Skyla being Joanna’s. So it seemed only fitting that they continue the tradition and name their second business together in honour of their second-born children, Harper & Hugo.
